Until the end of this year, 15 new elevators will appear at six keystrokes of the Madrid metro. They will allow passengers to go directly from the street to the platform without stairs and crossings.
Particular attention was paid to begonia stations on line 10, where seven spacious elevators were installed at once for unhindered access.
In addition, new elevators will appear at the Tetuan stations, Puente de Valekas, Suseh Lineal (three elevators), Karabanchel (four elevators), Campamento and Canilushas. The elevators will connect the street to the platform directly, and the turnstiles will be transferred to the elevator gallery for convenience and speed of passage.
The project is part of the city plan to ensure accessibility until 2028. About 19 million euros were directed to the implementation of the program.
Squares at the Prosperidad, Estrel and San Blass stations are in parallel. By 2028, 85% of the metro stations will be adapted to all users.
Earlier it became known that the metro in Madrid is preparing for large -scale changes. In particular, a significant expansion of metro lines 1 and 4 is expected — the first will be extended to the north, adding three new stations: Centro de Negocios, Fuencarral Sur and Fuencarral Norte. Line 4 will be extended to the Chamartin station, which will simplify the transplant, and add two new stops.
